Supported GPU client Video Cards

haha, yeah, and since it is an ATI card, it saturates one full core of the Q6600, so I'm going to replace it with a 9500GT VERY soon, then I can get about 1500PPD instead, and I'll have an extra core to work on the SMP client.

The HD2400Pro is literally the weakest DX10 discrete card in existence with only 40SP (ATI SP) so it's about the same as an 8300/8400GS, lol.

Just an update, with Sam speeds reported earlier but the shaders mildly OC'd to 1397 a single 295 core puts out 8600 on a 353. I'll look Into some more OC'ing later, just an update if ya wanted to know

appreciate the information Vaulter, will update as I go.

Average PPD on my MSI 5870 clocked at 900 core is 4.3k

Thank you for the information DooKey, I updated the ATI thread with that information

BFG gts 250 1 gig 806/1922/1120 6977 ppd on a 353 BFG gtx 260/216 700/1560/999 9256 ppd on a 353

awesome, updating information

New information added to the nVidia page regarding the GeForce GTX 470 and 480. If anyone happens to have one of these already, please let me know your average PPD and the current version GPU client you have for verifications.

FrEaKy I have to apologize to ya as one of my 275s started to overheat last night. Instead of baking it, I tore it down(aftermarket cooler), redid the thermal paste and put it back together upon which it blissfully went back to giving me 9500 ppd at a more reasonable temp.

Despite my success I beg your forgiveness.

470s and 480s can't fold yet. I have SLI 480s just dying to chew up some WU, but no client to use. :(

Yeah, I know atm they are unable to fold, however, I can still prepare for GPU3 clients and get the information ready! :)

I'll get you info on the 470s when they can fold. Oops did I say that?

Edit: Never mind I don't want any more blow dryers.

yup time to get some new numbers on these cards with the amount of new WU's coming out im sure the PPD avg's have changed a lot..

GeForce 9800 GT
Average PPD: 3500-5000
Core Clock (600MHz) Shader Clock (Unknown) Memory Clock (900MHz) Memory Amount (512MB) Memory Interface (256-bit) Memory Bandwidth (57.6GB/sec) CUDA Cores (112)

My 9800GT has a default shader speed of 1500Mhz, it is not an overclocked version as the core and memory speeds match above. I have overclocked the memory roughly 50Mhz and the shaders to 1836Mhz and left the core at 600Mhz and I am getting 4,000-5500PPD.

edit: Oc'ed to 720Mhz core and 1836Mhz shaders nets 4200PPD-6100PPD.

Hey Freaky we need to update this shit! i know its old but it would be good info for all the new people coming in..

also thought maybe we should do a performance thread for CPU's as well..

I agree.

This is good info and should be stickied. Knowing how many PPD a GPU can give depending on the model may be very useful for those in or who want to be in the folding arena.

nvidia stats updated to reflect all the new 4xx series cards (not to include mobile, those being added to another post in the thread!)

Bump to keep this thread up! :D

Very nice adding the mobile chipsets. We're getting a bunch of new models at my job that I can test out, so we can hope for results soon!

update the 8800GS 702/1728/1000 = 4400 PPD GPU2 & GPU3 clients

8800GS 702/1782/1000 = 4600 PPD GPU2 4500 PPD GPU3

8800GS 702/1836/1000 = 4600 PPD GPU3

also im thinking about doing an excel sheet showing the GPU avg PPD, P6600 WU PPD and P57xx WU(353 pointers) PPD and GPU3 PPD. just wanted to see what you guys think if it would be worth doing. would at least clean up the list more and give a better idea on PPD and can be updated much easier when newer slower/faster WU's come out.

oh another thing i also want to do a similar list for CPU's since we have so many different processors folding at different clock speeds.

I do appreciate the offer myself...

I already started work on a coldfusion page than uploads information entered into an Access DB. This should cover the need for this to be cleaner and would be nicer to have it auto update into my threads... ;)
