does anyone know if the SAS ports on the mobo, the ones at the front that connect to the backplane, are these 2x4 or 4x4 meaning do they provide 8 SAS channels or 16?

waiting to hear back from my supermicro guy but he can be slow sometimes so i'm hoping someone else here knows.
 
nevermind, probably just going to use 2 x 2U 12 drive JBODs with 2 controllers and only use 8 of the 12 slots in each. i lose some Us but that isn't a big concern.
