Super PI benchmark

1 minute 1 second = Barton 2500+ at stock

Edit: redid my 2500+ at stock and got 57s

OC'd to 2.2ghz got 47s

My 2.66B @ 3200 got 52 seconds, I believe. I didn't bother with a screenshot, since it really wasn't all that amazing.

I suppose it's pretty accurate, though, considering the guy who hit 6 GHz did it in 26s.

Hehe, i guess I could give this a go again before I get my MAX3 to fix my stupid A$$ voltage issues with this 3.4E.....gotta go update my 3DMark03 and 05 scores anyways....so i'll brb. ;)

No kidding, Fugger at XtremeSystems hit 6.3GHz a good while ago, and now I'm one of the many registered users over there bugging him and waiting for some more benchies. :p

Hopefully I'll be able to crack past 30seconds with the MAX3 and a bit more on the OC...we'll see. ;)

Oh, and I'll be putting up a SuperPi "Top10" thread in the next few minutes......with Top10 listings for 1M and 32M scores. The reason for the 32M inclusion is that so many ppl with so many different systems are going to be capable of hitting the same time in 1M, as its a very fast run....whereas 32M stresses your system that much more (forcing your testing OC to be a bit more stable) and leaves a LOT more room for variance in the score....as it takes just over 20 minutes for me to complete, whereas 1M is only a half minute run.
 
Hopefully I'll be below 30 after the VX and WC are in place.

I'd be happy at 29 :p

I'm sorry, but no matter what you say, a 17s 1M run is NOT possible on a 4.6GHz LGA775 setup.

I have seen a number of boards inflating scores because of an overheating chip on the board that controls clocks and a couple other stuff.......there was a "review" on it....cooler they got the chip, the more realistic the scores were.....and it looks like that's what's happening here.

I just don't want you to think that your rig actually DOES that in 17s.....cus it's not a legit score, but it's probly not your fault.
 
could u explain that a litte more? im not doubting you, just not quite understanding. how does the heat affect the score? this thing is being cooled by a VapoLS @ ~-21C
 
this test really loves low-latency, fast ram. i noticed a 1s lower score just from lowering the timings a little. i stuck out my vmem to 2.9 with really low timings and got 3.5s.

It's not your CPU, its a clock regulator on the board. I've seen a "review" done on this topic (can't remember/find a link) where "they" were getting crazy 10GB/s on a stock 3.46GHz EE setup, and as they cooled down the chip in question the scores level'd out.

When the particular chip starts to overheat it begins to throw results and pretty much what the computer "thinks" it's running at for speed completely out of whack.....and has very little to do with your Vapochill.

In other words, the data transfers are computed against runtime but the clock value shown is either at the beginning or at the end of the benchmark.

Last one:

Adding the heatsink to the clock generator ameliorates the problem but is far from solving it in that it only provides relief for a limited amount of time. Liquid nitrogen does the trick but it is not exactly a household item. In other words, until the issue has been addressed by the mainboard manufacturers or by Intel as the supreme / divine authority, it is going to be hard to accept any benchmarks unless they have been qualified as not to be affected by the clock-in-heat bug.

Hope it's a bit clearer now what's going on with your system.....
 
I'm still not sure what fugger got with his P4 o/c to around 6ghz... think he was not 100% stable over 5.7-9ghz?? But Tom Holck got 22sec with his 3.7ghz AthlonFX.

I have not checked it in a while but I would be interested in fuggers scores so I can see how his P4 compares to Tom's AthlonFX.

I don't know nothing about clock generators, but a do see something odd with nytrackstar's pic: Allocated memory = 16388648. Everyone else's pictures (and my runs here at home) show 8388648. Different version of SuperPi? Photochop?

It's either chopped, or severely inflated from the overheating clock generator on his board.....not saying the chip IS scorching for him ATM, but it's the only way he could be scoring like that if he honestly didn't photoshop it to hell.

Regardless, it doesn't matter.....now everyone get over to the [H]ard SuperPi Challenge in this same forum and be counted. :D
