I've been looking into getting a new case for a while, and a CompUSA near me has a few of these in stock for around $90, which is cheaper than newegg after shipping, and I was looking for some opinions on it.

How is it in terms of size and space? My current case is extremely cramped, and while I don't need a massive thing to build in, I'd still like some breathing room.

Does anyone have any experience with using water cooling in one? I've been looking into setting up water cooling down the road and was wondering how a Lanboy would fair in that regard.

If anyone has any other input on the case, it would be much appreciated.
 
It's quite a small case, but it's well designed. I was amazed by how little trouble I had doing a build with one of them, taking into account the size.

I'd highly recommend them for a very light and carryable case. Cooling is decent enough too.

And I was going out already today and decided to stop back at compusa. They still had them, so I decided to snag one. On my way out I noticed a Thermaltake Bigwater SE for around $150 so I decided what the hell and grabbed that as well. I'm setting up now as I type this, thanks for the input.
 
i like most of Antec's designs; the Lanboy is a great-looking case with a lot of potential. i think you'll be really pleased. congrats!
 
Well apparently the "removable" backplate that the cpu cooler is attached to isn't so removable. The sticky foam on it ripped out half the circuits on the back of the motherboard so as of now i have no computer.
 
I have the super lanboy. It's a nice case, but I believe I'm right in saying it's the smallest mid-tower case capable of housing an ATX board. A few cases might share that status, but you see what I mean. It has decent airflow, and is pretty light (relatively).

If you're going to buy it from compusa, bear in mind that they put it on sale every few weeks for around $40 after rebates. So... if you need to buy it right now, be aware if they do price matching and how many weeks after the pruchase they'll match it for.

i was going to mention this as well, but i didn't want the OP to feel bad about buying it outside of what seems like a common sale. ;)

and shadowbreaker513, sorry to hear that about your mobo. THAT SUCKS. which cooler are you using? my Ninja came with a "sticky foam" backplate, and a lot of folks told me not to use it. it was a small hassle to use my original mobo's backplate, but i did, and after reading your post, i'm relieved.

holy... that really bites. You should be able to find a cheap replacement these days for under $80.

Oh.. and I have the Super Lanboy case.. and it's perfect for a gaming rig. But, it can start to get crowded if you have a lot of drives and use IDE cables.
 
I have a LOT of stuff packed into my little Super LANboy case. Between the dual processors, the SCSI, etc, I was having serious overheating issues with the stock fans that seem to blow between 1 and 5 CFM tops but do have bling lights on them :rolleyes: I replaced them with two 120mm silverstone fans and most of my heat issues have gone away, though I still want to mod an exhaust fan onto the top rear of mine above the PSU.
 
Well I pulled out my spare MSI mobo (which runs the same chipset as the Asus), threw my Zalman cooler on there, and put everything in the case. Works perfectly. Considering the water block was leaking like crazy and it looked like it had been used before I bought it, I took the Bigwater back, got my money back, and snagged a 74GB raptor for $130 on my way out.
 
i absolutely adore my lanboy

its just a nice little case that can do so much... as u can see in my sig, i have quite alot of stuff in there.

oh and the guy taht had the cpu backplate sticky taped to the mobo... i hear ya man! i HATE it. my k8n-dl had the same thing... i spend an hr heating the plate up, finnessing it with a knife to get BOTH backplates out. i ended up with quite a few scratches on the back of the mobo (some deep gashes, and some to the traces), but luckily the mobo works and everything is rock stable

again, curse mobo makers that glue their blackplate
