Super Lanboy.. hazy window?

Anyone else end up with a Hazy somewhat scratched up window on thier lanboy? Mine was new and still covered with the protective film. I pulled the film off to find what looked like tons of fine scratches on the window. The finish was awful. Is this normal? I built a lanboy for a friend a while back and I dont remember his window looking like this. When you put it on the case it has somewhat of a hazy look to it. I contacted Antec about the problem.. dunno what good it will do.
 
yup, very common for lanboys, mine has it also
maybe some of it may come off with some windex+ towel or maybe even some alcohol + towel

NOOOO, no ammonia cleaner on acrylic. Use plastic polish from the automotive store to clean it up. A little bit of elbow grease and you will have a new window! Applying any ammonia based cleaner to the acrylic window will cause it to cloud up even more, unless they have newer materials in that window. If you have already done the deed, using the plastic polish should get rid of the film. :D
 
I will go pickup some plastic polish.. I used to use mothers aluminum polish on plastics a long time ago and it worked really well at bringing out scratches. Does Autozone carry this plastic polish? Ive never seen it.

seemed to work perfectly fine on fine...kept it nice and clean :D
 
now I gotta check mine...I have an nvidia window sticky on it.

Ok mine is not the clearest of plastics I've seen but it doesn't seem to be as bad you describe.

Didnt even realize it but same here with mine, 2 week old case.
 
my p160 does it too. i've never seen a case that uses the same plastic that doesn't have these scratches. i think it might just be the nature of the material.
 
I know Home Depot carries scratch remover specifically for plexi. If I remember correctly, it was about $7 per bottle... Look for it near their plexiglass.
 
Its pretty sad the 35$ case I had before this one had a window that was perfectly clear. I just figured for a case that usually goes for around 80-100$ without a PSU would have a nice clean window.
 
are you sure its not the adhesive from the plastic cover, my p160 had some bad adhesive buildup when I got it, came off with a little alcohol though.

no adhesive issues here. from a foot or more away, my window looks pristine. get a little closer though, and you'll see some ultra-fine swirls and lines.
 
try some Novus plastic polish on it, i use it on my windows, and ipod when they get scratched up with fine scratches.
 
I have some Mothers Plastic polish on the way... I couldnt find anything locally. Its nothing left behind from the protective film... its noticable swirl marks and fine scratches that give it a cloudy look. You get a few feet back from it and its not so bad. I just expected better for the price and coming from Antec.
 
I too have seen this issue. I built a box for a friend with super lanboy and the window was slightly hazy looking. It wasn't terrible but it certainly was less clear than the window in my chieftec dragon or my roommates Xdreamer
 
The Mothers plastic polish helped it out. Not near as bad as it was but still not as clear as I think it should be. If I went over it a few more times with the polish it might clear up completely.
 
Anyone else have this idea but, I think i might replace my super lanboys window with some modders mesh. Better airflow for my components, plus it'd look cool imo.

Thoughts?
 
I checked my window yesterday, and I don't see what you guys are talking about. My Super LanBoy is about two years old and the window is crystal clear except where I've damaged it.
