super flower PSUs any good? or something else HELP!

I'm interested in getting the Super Flower 550W PSU that is availible at directron. Has anyone used to or know anything about their reps. It would really be helpful. does anyone know if it has active PFC or another similar PSU (from 400W+) with a huge fan that would be good. Thanx
 
I've just discovered that Super Flower - at least some of their PSUs - may be rebadged Enermax-brand PSUs.
 
Interesting. If anyone has any good info about these, I'd appreciate it too. They're available locally for me.

no, Enermax is its own brand. To my knowledge Superflower has primarily used TTGI, as Kingwin does also. No word on them being rebadged Enermax, but I would doubt it....

E4g1e you have any pics or links to back that up? I would love to see them....
 
I had one Super Flower TTGI 450w die, and the other unit makes a high pitch noise...

Not going with that brand again...

That rumor was distrubuted by myself after reading the articles at Dan's data. They are (were?) oem'd by the same factory as enermax on mainland China. The older models are identical to older enermax's, but i'm sure the new ones are quite a bit different. Dan seems to like them a lot either way though. The article is pretty old now but it can still be found there.

ahh I was taking it in the wrong direction, thinking Enermax would lower their quality level. Seems TTGI had higher standards or Enermax simply wasn't that great of a brand back then....who knows now. What I can tell you is that I have never had a TTGI or Kingwin come back, and all were modded!
