Anyone have any experiences with them? Months back I bought a Core Contact Freezer because of the great price after rebate.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835207004

The product is pretty decent, and great buy at $25, not so much at $40. A few user reviews mentioned the company not replying to support emails, and never getting their rebate. I figured I'd take a chance and go with it, which I now deeply regret.

It's been almost 6 months since I sent in the rebate. I've emailed them about 5 times asking about my rebate status, and even uploaded photocopies of all the documentation, they just ignore me. A quick search on the BBB shows they've been rated an "F", mostly for failure to respond to claims, big surprise there.

I wonder if they'll ever respond if I just keep emailing them. Next step for me is to go to the BBB, which I doubt will help any. I'm no lawyer, but it sounds like what they're doing is illegal. I imagine it'd be difficult to prove anything though, and no ones going to bother taking legal action over $15.

I vaguely remember XFX coming under heat for rejecting RMA's over the most ridiculous reasons, and didn't shape up until a thread was started at a popular overclocking forum over the issue. XFX actually emailed the OP and offered him a trip to California to show him their factory and manufacturing process to make it up to him. Not saying I'm hoping for that, lol, but maybe if enough people get their attention they will make amends.

I just want to get this information out there so other people are aware. If no one says anything, than nothing will change. I'd actually be interested in hearing from people who HAVE received rebates from them.

Thanks for reading!

You pretty much summed it up right there. This is why I dislike rebates and only do them from a company with a history of fulfilling them.

Sunbeamtech does suck at rebates but Newegg can and will step up.
Contact Newegg CS and explain that you purchased it based on their advertisement of the rebate and be ready to supply Newegg with your rebate paperwork.
Newegg contacts Sunbeamtech and suddenly you get the rebate. Just remember to never buy Sunbeamtech again.

This = +1

I don't find myself very well-spoken, and this seems like a letter that needs to be worded well for it work (since I don't think newegg is obligated to do anything). I'd like to post it here to see what you guys think, if you recommend any changes, etc.

Hello, 4 months ago I placed an order for a Sunbeam HSF from your site. I made the purchase based off of your advertising of a rebate, and though I followed the instructions and sent in the required information, I never received my cash back. I've contacted sunbeam multiple times over the issue and have yet to recieve a response. I even sent them photocopies of my rebate information. Reading reviews it looks like the company is notorious for ignoring it's customers rebate requests, particularly from newegg. I'm hoping you can contact them and bring my issue to their attention, they may take an email from a business partner more seriously than a random customers. Their dishonorable business practice also reflects poorly on newegg, if the company is well known for their failure to honor rebates, you may want to reconsider advertising them. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give.

Respectfully,

Chris

While the letter sounds great, I would simply call them first.
My problem rebate was on a WD VelociRaptor. WD blamed the rebate house and the rebate house said WD had not funded the rebate yet. I called and emailed and finally reported them to the BBB and still got nowhere.
Six months after the purchase, I called Newegg and explained the situation, they gave me a case # and said they would contact me if they needed anything else.
I got an approval email from the rebate house within 24 hours and got the check via certified mail within a week.

Just want to give you guys an update on my situation.

Contacted BBB. no help

Kept contacting Sunbeamtech. no reply

Newegg got back to me saying they couldn't get in touch with sunbeamtech, and gave me a $15 gift certificate for my troubles!!

Gotta love newegg =)
