I've never used a fan controller before so i'm not sure if this is normal. With the knob turned on all the way to the right the fans work fine. If I turn the knob to the left (the led is still blue not red) the fan will turn off. Is there any way to fix this?

I've used this controller on a lot of fans, and never had this problem; the fans only quit when in the red.

I'd be interested in other peoples idea of the cause.

actually, its just the 200mm fan on my antec nine hundred. anyone have any suggestions?

Does the 200mm fan have a controller on it already? If so, it needs to be set to maximum speed, and then the Sunbeam Rheobus will work properly. I have that fan controller, and my Scythe S-Flex 1600s only stop spinning in the red.

It's quite possible that a fan that large just needs more than the 7v needed to still be "blue"

Good point. The fan controller changes color from Red to Blue at 7v. Anything above 7v is blue, and vice versa. You're right, it could require more than 7v just to keep spinning.

I know I have a few fans that will keep spinning with 7v on them, but won't START with 7v on them. So I have to either keep them at a higher speed then lower it after they power on, or deal with them slightly louder than I'd like.

Thanks for all the help. I guess the fan just needs more than 7 volts to run. It's not that loud any way

According to that review, the 7V mark is at the 2:30 position. This is also the Red/Blue change position.

As mentioned earlier, each knob actually operates a switch. The off position is at about the 7:30 position. When it is rotated clockwise, it turns on, and the LED for that channel turns on at full brightness, in red. The minimum voltage is 0.2V. No 12V fan will spin at this voltage. At the 12 o'clock position, voltage output remains at just 2V. At 1 o'clock, output is 4V. Between the 1 and 2 o'clock positions is where most 12V fans begin to spin -- about 4~6V. Around the 2:30 mark, 7V is reached. This is when the LED turns blue. After this point, voltage rise fairly quickly to a maximum of 11.5V at close to the 6 o'clock mark.

So at 7:30 the fan and LED are off. Between that and 2:30 the fan is on and LED is red. Past 2:30 the fan is on 7-12V and the LED is blue.
