Summer time and overclocks

It's getting there. It's around 90F where I am, and my new D0 i7 920 is idling at around 47c and 55-56 degrees with a small load @ 3.6 Ghz. Guessing I'm going to have to lower my clocks for the summer time...

My C0 idles around the same when it gets really hot and I don't turn on the air conditioning. Temps are still safe so nothing to worry about.

I have to do the same thing, although it hasn't gotten too hot yet

as long as you arent hitting mid to high 90's at load.. then its not that big of a deal.. i have no clue why people keep comparing the i7 temps to Core 2 temps.. the i7 is designed to handle these insanely high temps..

also if you are really worried about the temps.. just disable the hyperthreading.. that will drop your idle temps 5-10C and your load temps 10-15C..

yep. 55 is NOTHING to worry about. start to check yourself before you wreck yourself once you hit 80. until then, keep chugging at 3.6 or even higher.
