Summer Temps or Bigger Problems

My temps seem WAY to high for it to be just summer temps...house temp is anywhere between 70-75..

Temps confirmed by Speedfan...Everest...NVMonitor and Core Temp


IDLE

CPU=36
CORE 1=36
CORE 2=40
GPU=36

LOAD

CPU= 45-47
CORE 1=52
CORE 2=54
GPU=45-50 Depending on time gaming and game

I hear people all the time saying they have 20 degree cpu teemps or at leeast low 20s...I never get those unless its winter and its freezing inside the house.I usually get around 28 degrees for winter temps on CPU and around that or lower for GPU

Just seems like these temps are way to High For a summer jump...I think something just isnt right...I always though i was supposed to get lower winter temps but I let it go...now that I have these summer temps Im a little worried

You're still under 50C? I know it's water cooling, but that's a REALLY safe temp... I wouldn't be worried much.... lot's of people let it run up to ~60 with a big overclock....

On my old air setup with same clock I was getting around the same temps as I am now

except my idle was around 40

I guess after spending so much money or watercooling I expect the temps alot of other people seem to be getting not only in winter but also summer

Well I'm not a water cooler, that just seemed pretty cool to me, I get up near 60 sometimes

But it WILL go up with warmer room temps.... Water cooling is still only as good as the air being pushed over it, just a whole lot more efficient than air cooling.

You know if your wc'ing components are relatively up to snuff if it idles no more than 10C above ambient.

However, most components are rated to hit up to 70C. I've seen plenty of C2D's hang in the 60-70C range on air during the summer months. You'll be fine. Just don't do any big overclocks during those hot days.

For quite some time, I did a remount on my CPU and left for vacation. I didn't know I had bad contact and was running my CPU at 70C for a good week folding. To my relief, it was fine when I came back.

Most people don't realize how high most of our components are rated to run. Intel knows that most people don't take care of their comps as well as ours and have to design their chips with that in consideration. According to my college buddy who know works at Intel, they need to make sure their chips run fine in those dinky $500 Dell machines that have no case fans built for small businesses in Arizona and Nevada where ambient temps average around 30-35C.

That's for sure. Toasty is an understatement. My room temp is almost 95f these days. It's insane.

My gilfriend came over a few months ago, while I was doing a re-build of my WC loop. she turned on the computer and started surfing the internet. She complained that it was SUPER slow, and I looked at her wondering what she was talking about. The system was in pieces afterall, what was she talking about! To my shock, and amusement, the chip was running bare, no waterblock was attached to it. Just a little ball of AS5 that was bubbling on the surface of the chip.

After screaming like a little girl (and getting my revenge on her) intelTAT popped up saying the chip was throttling to 10% of it's stock speed (so about 180mhz) and had a core temp of over 87c.
