So, for the past 4-5 years I have been lugging around a huge CRT monitor and its become quite a burden. I first noticed this when I went to quakecon and just how ridiculous carrying that thing was. This summer is gonna be the first one I've had without taking summer courses, so I'll finally have time to dedicate myself to work full time and get a nice fat wad of cash.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to help me find the best damn 20 inch-ish monitor that money can buy(but not more than $600 please ;P). I will be playing a fair amount of games on it, but also plenty of movies. My main concern is ghosting - but I think the technology is good enough now-a-days that its virtually non-appearent. Widescreen or not, it doesn't matter too much. Though I am quite used to the standard and have never experienced a widescreen before. Glossy or anti-glare isn't too big of a deal either.

24 inches is a *little* bigger than I want. I was thinking between 19-22inches. Though, I suppose this model is popular enough that I could go to a BB or someplace and try it out.

EDIT: Also, since my computer was made a few years back, I've only got an ATI x800Pro sitting in there. I know that LCDs like to play at a native resolution, will getting one thats 'too good' affect my ability to game? On the flip side, a year or so from now I plan on building another computer, and I might just switch this monitor over to that one to save me money.

any other suggestions? I know a year ago I was looking at the Viewsonic 2025, is the 2035 just a better version of that? Basically I want good viewing angles, low-ghosting, and plays movies pretty well. That will run on a x800pro. Does it look like I'm out of luck for this monitor size category with this video card?
