I5 3570k with Scythe Samurai ZZ
Asrock z77e IT
8gb samsung green memory
Gigabyte Windforce Gtx 670


So after putting in the motherboard, which had literally less than 1mm clearance going in sideways, i only realised now that the cable management is going to be a pita. I havent gotten my gfx card yet (Gigabyte 670), should be here today.

Anyone got any tips and tricks on how to route the cables? Ive been trying to find good pictures (from bottom angles) of sugos sg07/08, of cases with nice cable management...

I just finished routing my cables, but I haven't mounted the MB or watercooler yet. Check out the last 5 or so pages of the SG07 forum thread (or the Asus or ASrock z77 threads) for pictures of how people are arranging cables. The general consensus is to run the SATA power cable in the gap between the HDD holder and the front panel. The floppy/Molex and PCI Express power cables can be bundled in the space above the PSU (on the right). The ATX cable can be fastened to the back of the PSU (between the MB and PSU). the EPS12V and front audio cable can routed in the channel with the rear AC power extension, but too many cables in those channels can interfere with placing the top-mounted fan. It's just easier to use the HDD holder to hide cables in if you're only using SSDs for storage.

So far seems ok. I havent done any Ocing or nothing yet, dont have the gfx card yet. Installe W7 nicely, and boots up fast. The build quality of it is very nice.

Should i of routed the cables before putting the MB in? Mm, i already put the MB inside, and i don't think its coming out

I went through the sg07 thread, and someone tried it without the fan, apparently it was getting a bit too hot.

I plan to only do a mild oc, 4.2 or so.

When i was looking at the case, before buying, i thought the top 180mm fan would be cooling the gfx card too, or atleast expelling air through the vents on the side of the gpu, but its pretty much 2 different chambers. The gfx peaks at 72 degrees, after 3 heaven benchmark runs, considering people are having it run sub 60 under load, im going to try to rectify that.

So i'll be making some air ducts for the 3 fans of the gpu, since currently, the same air is just circulating around the gfx card area. Hopefully that will lower the temps.


Running BF3 75-85fps all ultra at 1080p is nice


I tried to do some OCing of the CPU, but its not letting me change the multiplier in the Bios? Do i have to enable Ocing somewhere in the bios or?

We have same gfx card. But i have SG08 i will post pic when i got a chance on my cable managment. U need lots of zip ties to make it really neat. What kind of heatsink u have in your cpu?

The difference between sg08 and 07 is just the outside front, i think. So yeah id like to see your cable management. I have the Scythe Samurai ZZ on the cpu.

I've just had a go at some air ducts, from an empty plastic bottle, it reduced the temps only by 2 degrees. I tihnk the main problem is tht the plastic pieces are not flush with the gpu heatsink, so its still taking the hot air from inside the compartment.

My gfx card run at 75~ c when i play bf3. Thats with 100mhz oc. Im not still comfortable with the temp im getting but i guess its not bad for such a small case.

I was just playing for about half an hour and peak was 64 c. stock, no oc. Ambient temperature is about 22 c or so. maybe its a bit hotter where you are.

Not sure, about 2 cm or so id say. Next time when i open it up i'll measure.

Mm, i wouldn't do this. Only way i'd do it is if you were very good wit a saw, and even then, i don't think it would look nice.

You could try using some closed-cell foam or neoprene to make a gasket around all three fans -- I don't think you can buy those separately from Silverstone. Have you tried using the included foam ring on the center fan (maybe that will help channel more air out of that area).

The fans on the windforce are about 1cm or so too wide for the foam ring to go around them unfortunately.... Yeah, some foam-type air duct would be in order...

I was wondering what would be better; a separate air duct for each of the 3 fans, or one big one covering the 3 combined fans?
