OK guys. I'm thinking about building a computer this summer.

Thats what I have decided on so far? Good choices? I'm not sure what kind of RAM to get. I hear Corsair is nice quality but does it really make a difference? I'm a pretty big gamer so I want the best speed I can get for the money. Also, what does registered RAM mean? And what are the different RAM Speeds? Can anyone suggest me a good stick of 512 RAM?

Switch the proc to a C-Class P4. One with the 800MHz bus and HT. Your board supports them, so there's no reason not to.
 
You don't want registered RAM or ECC RAM, what you do want is 512MB or more of good PC3200 RAM with a CAS level of 2 or 2.5 (2 is better).
 
You also want to buy 2 identical sticks of memory, so you can run the memory in dual channel. For example, if your only going with 512 MB, get 2 256 MB sticks.
 
Why not registered? What does registered mean? Also, if I run 2 sticks of 256 how do I run it at dual channel and what are the advantages?
 
Error Correcting memory and it is slower. You don't need it. I only use it for always on critical company servers.
 
Can you get a stick of 1gb ram? Do they make it that big?

If your planning on building a system, you need to be researching this stuff. If not, what's the point of trying to pick out components? I'm not saying this to be an ass. Just research, and know what your buying.

Dual Channel effectively doubles the memory bandwidth. It's not a 100% increase, but it certainly makes a huge difference. Your motherboard manual will tell you which of the 4 slots to put the memory in.

If your curious about what registered means, look it up. Learning to answer your own questions will come in handy as you build your system.
