I am looking into getting my son a GPU for his system. I had built the system for the purposes of using it for school and to play a few simple games. As he is getting older he is wanting to play more graphically intensive games. I am looking for a GPU that will be the best improvement for his system w/o being bottle-necked by the rest of the system. His current spec is as followed:

AMD A6-3650
Gigabyte GA-A55M-S2V (rev. 1.1)
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600
Raidmax 600w PSU with 6pin connector
Running on Windows 7 Home 64-bit

I am not wanting to put in a beast of a GPU that is good overclocker or anything like that. I just want something that works well with stock settings and will be in the $150 dollar range after shipping. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You want a crossfire x compatible GPU it will be well under $150 and with work together with the apu. I know the 6670 works but I am sure someone else here can point out if there is a better option.
 
I had thought of getting a Crossfire compatible GPU but I had did some research and there was little improvement in processing power when working together. I don't mind spending the full $150 I just don't wanna end up 10 months from now having to do and upgrade again.
 
At ~$150, look for a 7850 2GB. If you have a hard budget of $150, look used for a 6950 2GB or a 6970 2GB.

Any other new card short of $150 isn't really worthwhile... the 650 Ti and 7770 are both pretty far behind the 7850. Since you want to keep it a bit longer, you want a 2GB card, but that costs around $170 on sale for the 7850 2GB. If you must get new, I would look into a 650 Ti for around $100 or a 7770 for around $80
