i currently have 512 (1066mhz) rdram.... i was wondering if i should make the jump to 1g or maybe 768. another 512 will probably set me back about 160 if i get lucky. so i was wondering if i'd see noticable performance improvements in anything if i upgraded (i'm heavy into gaming). keep in mind i probably wont be making a cpu/mobo/ram upgrade until pci express and btx have been solidified for a while, so i was wondering if 512 will be sufficient til then or if i should just make the 1gb leap. my current setup is a p4 2.4b @ 2.7. and a 9700 pro on a gigabyte 8ihxp mobo. thankssss for suggestions.

no one? come on late night [H]'ers. you can do better than that. how about early morning [H]'ers. maybe i'll have better luck with y'all.

I used to have 768 MB single channel ram, and I recently upgraded (downgraded?) to 512 MB of dual-channel RAM. I was amazed at how choppy all of my games are now, plus maps take about twice as long to load on 512 mb than they did 768 MB.

512 to 768 is a nice upgrade. 512 to a gig is an even nicer upgrade.

Even if it's just to 768, I say go for it
