Suggestions on airflow

So, things are a bit of a mess right now. I've got computer parts flung everywhere, but hopefully I'll be putting everything back together in a couple of days. Anyway, I'm redoing my water setup and I'm changing things from exhaust to intake. I've got a few concerns about that though. Mainly I'm concerned about my video card. My gpu won't be water cooled because honestly I don't think it's worth buying a block for a card that I don't plan to keep for that much longer. So with the radiator fans pulling hot air into the system, what will happen to my gpu and where will that hot air go? I only have the one 140mm fan exhausting air at the moment. Additionally, I'm modding my side panel so it will just have a plexi window, no more mesh or 200mm fan.

Here is a quick mockup of what I have planned in my head. Let me know if I can make any suggestions. Oh and I forgot to add it, but the bottom right drive bay is filled with my hard drives. The drive bay above it is empty and can be removed or I can reverse the fan direction. Oh and the order is Res/Pump > 360 rad > cpu block > 240 rad > res/pump. Also, I've read that pull is slightly better than push unless you have 38mm fans, so I've got it planned as a pull setup.

 
Your airflow diagram looks good, but on my case (Lian-Li PC-70 Server) I could only fit a 240mm rad and also a fill port behind it and still use my top 5" bay for a CD drive.

Also although cool air is always better, I would think the advantage to having the top fans suck air down into the case would be minimal (i may be wrong). My reasoning for this is that one, the case looks so large and has a lot of fans cooling it already so probably not that big of a temp delta to change the loop temp that much, two, with water blocks there wouldn't be a lot of heat building up in the case, three, with bottom blowing up and also top their is laminate air flow and not a dead spot where the air stream collides, and four, the natural way for heat is to rise, and even with a slow speed fan the heat from the top radiator would naturally rise up.

I have 2 120s on the front blowing in, one blowing through a 120mm radiator, one part of a 5" bay lian li 4x HD rack, then my two 120mms on the bottom blowing up, two 80mms on the back panel + 120mm in PSU blowing out, and then my 2 120s for my top 240mm rad blowing up.


You could get a GPU only block like the Swiftech MCW80 Extreme, it is universal. I have used mine on 3 video cards so far:

I use it currently with a with a heatsink cooling plate for the memory and mofsets:

and have 2 medium speed 120mm fans blowing up at it.

This set up also has an advantage that you dont put a lot of heat into the loop. My case is so big im not really worried about the heat produced by the plate.
