Didn't know where to put this. But I need your help guys!

Hey,

My mother has decided to purchase a computer. I told her that it was completely foolish to purchase a computer because prebuilds are far to expensive and you will get crap.

This computer needs to be 1000-1200$ Canadian which is equal to 987-1184$ USD.

This computer will be used by myself also.

I am an Intel kind of guy and usually prefer Nvidia. If you suggest ATI please give facts to why I should proceed and purchase ATI.

you should get an HD4850 card from ATi, it's the best performance/value card ever, and you can find them for 150-180. You could get a decent P35/IX38 chipset motherboard for around 100-120, and a case/psu combo deal from newegg for like 80.
