Suggestions for case modding

Greetings,

I am looking for some opinions on what kinds of mods I should do to my new computer case. While I do have some rough ideas of my own, I am curious what the modding community here would do if they had this particular case. Now, this ain't your average case for sure :p and it sure puts the Thermaltake Mozart to shame :D

And last but not least, the case stripped down of all panels to its skeleton. Nothing else can be unscrewed without drilling out the rivets or taking out the dremel.

As for the guts, at the moment the plan is for a dual-Opty system, massive watercooling, and extreme silence.
 
i can't really give you any ideas but shit man that is one top case!

Its an Addtronics CSF-1630 Server Chassis.

Yeah, its one awsome case. No other cube & server cube cases come close to this one in terms of layout and expandability. It can house a SSI MEB sized motherboard thats 13" x 16". What I need to do now is just go to all those previous posts written by some people which say that regular sized cases are too big already. Two 5.25" bays are more than enough. Bah, 16 5.25" bays are not enough :eek: (j/k) Oh yeah, and comes with rack mounting gear so I can convert it if I ever needed to so do.

It was awsome to see the reaction of the Fedex guy who came to deliver it. He's like I've got a computer chasis for you but its huge ?!? He couldn't believe what he was delivering :D

what on earth are you gonna put into it? I have a 4-cpu Tyan 4881 that would love all that space and airflow! GJ :cool:
 
yeah, watercool that thing! With like, pimped out Aqua-Computer gear... like everyone else has been doing. maybe like, dual loops with a MO-RA2 or an AirPlex Evo 1800 for each loop!

Personally, I like the stylish minimalist design of the thing so I don't really want to see the thing Thermaltake-ified.

I wish. The Tyan Thunder n4250QE (S4985) would have been even better but can't afford to put that much money down at the moment. Gotta wait for a couple more years to save up for that but I know that one day I may just be able to fit that in as an upgrade or whatever the current revision will be.
I still don't have the motherboard that I will use for it, but it will be the Tyan S2915 Thunder 6650w.

Tyan S2915 ? nice board to slap a nice beefy PCI-E gfx card in! ;)

The 4985 is still a bit buggy...Im fixing to RMA one that couldnt handle all the 667 memory it had...its dead :(

Still a rockin case man....Thats a case I'd buy just to stick in my closet for future use :p
 
Pretty freaking sweet, I think you could do a super mean military theme on that, but I'm partial to military mods and camo. LOL
 
h-o-l-y-s-h-i-t that case is awesome!! It has so many possibilites. It looks like those are 120mm fan places on the front and back? You could put a 3x120 on the front right perfect.. or a 2x120 in the back in that protruding section. I highly recommend a VL System LIS2 Premium VFD, Thermaltake T-type Inline Temp monitor for H20, a nice res for the front, and fill that thing up with hard drives. (hot swap bays) :p Oh, also, on the front panel, put some small 4'' cathodes of your choice so it glows from behind and shines down through those vents. Cut a small rounded-rectangular window on the side so you can see the water cooling loop. Dual processor loops look awesome. ^_^

Oh yes, and where did you buy it.. I can't find it anywhere.

Yes, all fan grills/mounts are for 120mm fans. In its stock form, it can handle 6 of them.

I got the case from www.arrowmax.com through eBay. It does says Maxtop as the brand, but is really manufactured by Addtronics.

Yup, that would be the one. Yeah, its a bit high but reasonable for what it offers. A lot of the cube cases cost in excess of $400. There are other server cube cases out there such as: http://circo.stores.yahoo.net/ccxxlsupcubs.html or http://www.caseoutlet.com/shopexd.asp?id=170 Lian Li is coming out with their own cube case though I dunno how much they will charge for it http://www.overclockers.com/articles1358/

But none of the alternatives are as nice as this IMHO.

Holy Crap! that Lian-Li is freaking HUGE. If i had the funds/space for it, that case would be right on the top of my list faster than i could say....Lian-Li

It just has SO MUCH ROOM. i could see a nice BIG water cooling system with the pump, resevoir, radiators and other ineternals all on the other side of the motherboard with the tubes going over the wall to the motherboard so all the window shows is the tubes.. Then putting 2x120mm Radiators on the back on the side with the pump and deffinatly putting in quad SLI cards :D
