Alright, my uncle wants a comp that can do the following:
Photoshop
Photoshop Lightroom? (He's got a digital slr and wanted something like Apple's aperture)
Browsing the web

And.. that's pretty much it, it wouldn't be used for gaming at all. There wouldn't be any major usages of photoshop, just to touch up some photos maybe? He's not a multi tasker, aka he wouldn't have more than 5 apps open at once.

I believe the budget is from around $500-1000. I was thinking C2D and all, but I don't wanna put something in there that's major overkill for anything non-gaming or cpu intensive.

Other note, he's got a 20" widescreen monitor at 1680x1050. The operating system is Windows Vista Ultimate.

Thanks everyone!

Please read a couple of other threads. There are many, many threads exactly like this.

It's much better to do a little reading, post a build (with links to the parts) & prices, and have people critique.

once in awhile you may get lucky and have somebody post a build for you, but don't expect it.

Photoshop is a CPU and RAM hog... so go for a C2D. I'm thinkin an E6600 (if he's not OC'ing; E6400 if he is), P5B-E (if he needs firewire, DS3 if he doesn't), 2GB of DDR2-667, and a Seagate 7200.10 320GB. As for vidcard, he could just go with any cheap $30 card, since its all 2D work.
