Suggestion: Subforums for "Computer Audio"

Hey all,

Just a suggestion to create 2 subforum levels for the Computer Audio forum. One would be for gaming audio and the other for music/"audiophile" type audio. I say this because the information is very divergent for these two groups and advice in one doesn't really apply to the other.

As I only play video games for entertainment and not as a hobby, the advice in this area doesn't really apply so I have to sift through the threads in this forum to find those that apply to music/theatre/etc.

For what it's worth...

Isn't that forum kinda already "low volume" per se? Dividing up a low # of threads would be kinda bad, IMO.

QFT, that would pretty much kill whats left of the car forum.

That is a good point. I don't check on this daily, so I don't have a good handle on the overall amount of throughput the forum sees.

But from my point of view, there is a large separation between these two categories depending on your purposes. If one of the subforums ended up never having posts than perhaps posts that would belong there are better suited for the General forum.

Anyway, not a big deal, I guess I'm just sick of, "What are the best speakers for <insert game here>?"

I post in this subforum regularly, and although the two are different, they sometimes become related.

I've seen people asking for good computer speakers for gaming, and they end up getting headphones (which they never really considered as a viable option).

Anyways, to ME it's fine as is. There is quite a bit of overlap that may not be obvious.

In fact, to be honest with you, it kinda is "divided", in that most of the game questions are on hardforum, and more "high end" questions end up on another forum. Yea, its fine as-is.
