What are some good mAtx cases? Preferably aluminum. And so they look nice, and have some good features.

hmm.. those are less mAtx (Mini tower) cases and more desktop/HTPC cases.

I have that case. Was gonna use it for a HTPC. Was a good idea until I had nothing problems with it.

A: The LCD is sideways (when using it as a desktop case)
B: The CDRW and DVDRW drives both get stuck on the flip-down doors.
C: The LCD has 3 temp probes on it, but only room to measure one temp.
D: The LCD is impossible to read at anything but a perfect 90° angle.
E: Horrible cooling.
F: The PSU died after less than 3 months.
G: Need I go on?

In fact, I hated the case so much that I wrote a review on Newegg's site about it, and they never posted it. I guess they only want to show positive reviews? :rolleyes:

I did that with a motherboard that took us 3 tries to get a non DOA. I was furious, and posted as such. It never saw the light of day. So I poked around on their website... and sho' enuff, they have a clause regarding that they have sole discression regarding the opinions that get posted. They stated something like, "They cannot validate really bad reviews...." blah, blah, blah....

mm... theres boubd to be a good mAtx case.

I really liked the Lian Li matx cases... but Ive been having trouble finding one in canada.
 
I gave that case to my wife and got a Cooler Master HTPC case. Looks mmmmmuuuuuucccchhhhhh better.

Proprietary PSU, horrible cooling, very limited room for processor heatsink, and only 1 external drive bay.

Not a good case.
 
The Arias are pretty stylish, have a nice cubic form factor, and allow for more flexibility (non-proprietary motherboard size, etc.) in upgrading the main components than other Shuttle-type computers. Most people don't need more than one optical drive, and Zalman sells heatsinks that usually fit inside pretty easily. From what I've read, balancing noise and airflow / cooling can be a real hassle though, and is a serious issue with the design.
