I'm going to be upgrading this piece of junk I've had for a year now, bought under duress. It was a MicroATX form and I'm ready to get back into a normal tower.

I'd like something with a good strong power supply in it, and looks aren't important(I'll take care of that later). I just want it to be sturdy and ventilated, and price is a major issue.

Your suggestions are appreciated. :)
 
Inwin S500 series have been very good cases for my customers (on the occassion that I accidentally picked an S523 instead of a V523)...
 
Checking out...they are looking ideal! 430 watts for just under eighty bucks at NewEgg. Thanks Marduk!

Really? I wasn't aware they'd bundled PSU's that large with them. I was always using the 300W PSUs (nForce 2 systems for a family don't typically require more than that) in the S523T and V523Ts.

Anyway, whatever you go with, make sure it's a good case first, flashy case later. The Inwins I've used have always been high quality, very sturdy, etc. I've been using the V523T's on customer computers for the past 3 years or so; The Enlight 72xx series I used before them, and a lot of the RaidMAX I see my friends using seem flimsy in comparison.
 
Hmmm...I just noticed that InWin is listed as a hazardous PS supplier in the sticky on this forum. However, that one that Stryder provided has an option to switch power supplies, which could be a deal breaker, saving me some shipping.

Stryder, you said 120s all around, does that include the top? They don't provide a shot that confirms whether it does or not.

While I've had great luck with their PSUs (even received a 24 pin (20 compatible) PSU unexpectedly.). That's one thing they seemed to keep upgrading; the first one I bought had a 250W, next a 300W, the latest ones have had SATA and 24 pin plugs...but this is from their V523T line; I'm not all that sure about their S line
 
Don't get the skyhawk case unless you're never going to move it.

I built a server with it that I've only put 6 or 8 hours into...and I have it sitting in the box again.


the 5.25" covers are way too easily pushed in, the metal is very flimsy.


It's not a terrible case; it's just not the kind I'd want to take lanning.
 
That alternative does look more feasible. I know my best friend has reported great success with aluminum cases. Gotta invest in a few new fans.
