Cliffs: Can anyone suggest a program that can retrieve lost data from a hard disk?

I have an old system with a new hard drive which i just installed. The old hard drive from this system has data that I need to retrieve. I plugged the old drive in my main machine via USB enclosure and windows explorer wasn't seeing it. I opened up the disk management mmc thingy and it said in order for the drive to be accessible, I'd have to intialize it. I initialized it and now windows sees the entire drive as unformatted data (I am 100% positive that this drive not only is formatted with NTFS, but that it is about 90% full of data).

I then shat myself and swapped it back into its original machine (aftorementioned old system) which then would not boot past where the BIOS looks for an OS.

I NEED to retrieve data from this drive, and I know it is usually always possible to retrieve data (I know there is software that can retrieve data after formats, repartitions, etc). Can anyone suggest a program that can retrieve lost data from this disk? Preferably one that offers a free trial or is cheap :p

THANKS!

I just used Get Data Back to restore 35 gigs of lost data. Works like a charm.
