This is my current system specs:

XP1700
A7N8X DLX
XMS 3200 256mb x 2
ATI9800 pro
WD 80gig w/8mb cache

I'd like to upgade but I cant spend the money on a 64bit proc, thats pretty much out of the question.

I've been thinking of just getting a barton 2800 and keeping my current board. If I do that what would be a decent but inexpensive Mb I could put the 1700 in for my girlfriends computer, shes doesnt need anything too high speed as the only thing shes does is play Lineage 2 and surf.

Also, should I just keep what I have, buy my gf a cheap proc and mb and wait untill I could afford the amd 64?

As far as purchasing, newegg is my only option as im in the military and im stationed in Korea.

Is your current system overclocked?

I would just keep what you have now and upgrade to a new socket 939 San Diego A64 or socket LGA 775 Prescott when they release. Both are looking to be very appealing.

It's not overclocked now but when I first recieved it I had it up to about 1800, anything more and it was unstable. If i remember corectly it's a A core. Using a SLK900 with a 90mm tornado.

I'd get a xp1800 for $49 and OC that... or a xp2500 for $75. Since everything you already have is ready for OCing, why not?
