I'm running win XP Pro, and about 3 weeks ago just all of a sudden I boot up my pc and for no apparent reason it hangs for about 3 minutes during the XP logo portion of the boot, where that blue bar scrolls by. then it will lag again during the welcome screen. I've run several different spyware and anti virus programs, and nothing has been detected. what could have possible crippled my system's boot time like this so suddenly? before this it would boot up in 30 seconds. and it does not seem like general time laps boot time, this was a very sudden thing, it didn't happen gradually. Is there any other cause I should be looking into? I'm trying to avoid a reformat. the last thing I can remember doing before this happened was going to a pc checkup type website called http://pcpitstop.com/ and I ran their full test. I did notice during the test that my screen flashed with odd shapes and colors, what seemed to be just some sort of image rendering test from the website, but I wonder if it was something else. but anyway, that may not even be relevant. I hope someone has a good suggestion. thanks!
