does anybody know if thermalright has any plans on releasing a heatsink that is better than the current xp120 (all copper?),using a 120mm fan?

I'd imagine that if they made something out of copper the same size as the 120 it would be ridiculously heavy. I'm guessing no, at least not for now.

xp-120 with fan is already over the 'max weight' amd and intel suggest... 640 grams aint heavy enough for you?

640 grams is not that bad, you can get a lighter 120mm fan....But a full copper xp120 would be pretty heavy....But that Zalman 7700 is already heavier than h3ll....for a hsf

perhaps its not that bad.. with some calculations... since its 370 grams.. and aluminum is 2700 kg/cubic meter.. and copper is 8230 kg/cubic meter... a all copper xp-120 would be about 1120 grams.. not as bad as i envisioned.. but its going to cost a ton to buy it if it is produced

Something tells me that if you put a 2.5 pound heatsink on your chip, the motherboard would warp pretty seriously in a few months. You'd have to build a custom device to support the HSF with the case somehow.

I have an XP-90, and it cools just fine. It's considerably bigger than the SK-7 I had on my AthlonXP, but it's actually somewhat lighter. :)
