Successful 2684's and Memory

Please choose the amount of memory your system has if it has run a bigadv 2684 successfully.
I know some people have multiple systems so you can choose multiple options.

There is another thread here for Failed 2684's and memory.

If you have a system that has 6gb of memory and has both completed one successfully but also had a failure vote 6gb in both places.

I only have two different setups with my -bigadv systems. One is native Linux with 4GB of RAM and the other is Win 7 with 6GB of RAM and a VM with 5.2 GB of memory allocated. Both types of setups had successfully completed and failed P2684 WUs. My belief is that these WUs are inherently less stable than the older A2 WUs regardless of memory amounts.

Since I can't vote twice:

12Gb in a dual E5530 - 4 completed, 2 failed, one at 58% and going strong
6Gb in various I7 configuration - 5 completed, 4 failed

I had a 4Gb I7 machine that was about 50/50 as well

Yeah i know we cant vote twice but im just trying to see if there is a correlation between failures and the amount of memory available to crunch these units.

on FF a lot of people are complaining, but from what i can tell a majority has 6gb or less.
I only had one fail and it was on my box with 6gb.

Well, FWIW, Evil did say they have a smaller memory footprint, however I still see full memory usage when I get one of these WUs, so perhaps he meant when they will be eventually released for the Win SMP2 client, IDK. Maybe there is a correlation with memory amounts, it's hard to say. I wish Stanford could tell us a little more about these units.
 
Yea i see full mem usage as well on linux with these. I guess well see what happens on windows.
 
12 gig and 6 gig dedicated to the vm
So far I'm 1 failed and 1 completed for 2684
 
I did have one complete, but that was it. The rest failed in various stages from 1% to 99%
 
i7-1 = 12gb
i7-2 = 6gb
Allocated to VM/linuxrouter's image = 5gb

Have had finishes and failures on both.
Success for me is tied into leaving the VM alone and not shutting it down for anything.
Failure for me has been from shutting the client down (Control+C) and then powering down the VM. Upon a restart of the VM and the client, it flushes. I'm hoping that Suspending the VM solves this problem and keeps the failures from happening; will try later.
