I just ordered a Xonar DSX and have a few questions about hooking it up. The sound card has a sub out port. My PSW-10 sub has been connected to my A5 via the RCA out. I was just wondering if it is better to plug the sub into the sub output on the card when I get it instead of from the speakers? Is there a difference?

the sub out only works in 5.1/7.1 mode. i would only use it when connecting to a 5.1 set or the Direct multichannel of an AVR.

use the port on the A5.

Line level is always better than speaker level when connecting a sub.

I just read the online manual for the DSX and you're right, it's for 5.1/6.1/7.1 setups. Since my setup is only 2.1, I'm going to leave the sub connected to my A5's. Thanks.
