I've been wanting do a submerged computer for a long time now, and I think I might actually try it sometime soon. I have an old 440BX dual slot 1 board that I want to try this with. I have a few questions before I start buying anything...

1) What liquids are best to use, baby oil, mineral oil, etc?
2) Does the liquid need to be circulated or can it be left standing still?
3) Does dry ice conduct electricity? ( this may be a side project :D )
4) Can a system running in this condition be trusted to become a home server?

1 > if ya scroll down the page in this forum you'll see : Silicon fluid immersion

2 > In my first build of the ThinkTank project , I circulated it.......I don't think I'm going to bother with circulation in the rebuild.Convection should do this just fine.

3 >Dry Ice is a nonconductor.

4 > it depends on how it's setup really , and what the liquid is.Things of concern : leaks, fire, loss of coolant overheating machine etc.

:D
