I have 4 Insignia Bookshelf speakers and a powered sub woofer hooked up to a 5.1 Sony receiver. I have a digital coax run from my Extreme Music to the receiver. I just got the Home Theater cable from Creative so I would be able to get directional sound again in my games. I hooked it up per the instructions, my receiver has a multichannel input, and everything works except the sub woofer. It is connected to the receiver via a sub woofer cable to the sub woofer output. I have been trying all the settings in the drivers but no luck. Do I have to connect the sub in a different way to get to work with the analog cable. Thanks

I don't think games have a discrete subwoofer channel. You probably need to enable a crossover on your receiver to get bass output.

I was thinking along the same lines, but it seems all that can be adjusted on the receiver when using the multichannel input is volume control. All other settings have to be done through the sound card. I just don't know if there is a setting I have wrong or what.

Does anyone thing that I would have to connect to the high pass connection on the sub to get it working??

If you bought the home theater cables, there should be a dedicated subwoofer cable split off of the black line. It is integrated into the same line as the center channel. Your receiver does not to bass redirection on the multi-channel input: you have everything connected to your speakers properly.

I've been playing with settings all night and reading on Creative's forums and it seems this is a issue, if I enable Bass redirection I will get a sub signal if I set the speaker config to 5.1 or 7.1 but then I lose sound from front speakers. I only have 4 speakers plus a sub, no center channel. So not sure now what to try. Does anyone know if the Prelude allows a digital connection and positional audio at the same time. Didn't think this would be so difficult. LOL
