I am planning on running my audio out from my PC via the SPDIF into my A/V receiver. Then run two speakers from the receiver to use as a 2.0 system. The reason, is I want to use Klipsch's Reference series RSX-5 speakers for my computer. When I do this, I will lose my low-end due to not having a sub attached. Does anyone make a dedicated subwoofer only for hookup directly to the PC? If not, what other options may I have?

I could use my Home Theater sub via the SPDIF connection to the receiver, but I have had mixed results with this setup.
 
I have the soundstorm audio via my Asus A7N8X Del. My receiver is a Marantz SR9300. And price is irrelevant, quality is king.
 
Your receiver should have some sort of bass management on it.... try setting the speakers to "small" and/or make sure your subwoofer is enabled in your receiver.

Also, check your soundstorm control panel to make sure the LFE channel is getting its own signal, and that the crossover is the same as what you have set up on your amp and HT sub.
 
Assuming the speaker outs on your soundcard work then you could make up a cable from the sub out on there, then any active sub will do, or a passive one obviously if you get an amp. Youd have to google for the exact pin out for your soundcard, If you have three mini jack sockets on the back then set it to 5.1 mode and the sub output usually goes on the same plug as the center speaker. Any jack to phono plug cable will do for connecting to your sub then, just choose either the left or right wire to see which is the right output.

Failing that a lot of active subs will have a crossover built in, so if you can get a mono full range output from somewhere that should connect ok.

Or further still if money really is no object get some speakers with a decent amount of bass. I can highly reccomend the Linn Ninka Bi amp it with a couple of the LK140s also from linn, with any decent preamp, and you wont really miss any bass detail whatever, they arent thunderous, buts its tight and controlled right down to ~40hz prob a bit more in a small room.

Herulach, thank you for your reply, that was exactly what I was looking for. I am going to research the sub out option on my soundcard and probably do that. Also, I bought the Klipsch RSX-5's as my two channel audio speakers. They are truly excellent in the highs and mids as only Klipsch are. I think I will be happy!
 
I'm confused. Why don't you just use the subwoofer output from your reciever? I have a hard time believing that the SR9200 can't do bass management on PCM audio.
