Sub $700 display for x360?

In my last topic I was considering just getting an HDTV, but I never watch TV, and when I do all I have is basic cable that isn’t hd or all that clear (its clear but some channels are a little fuzzy) cause the cabling in my house is from the early 80s so it doesn’t carry the signal too well, so I think an HDTV would be wasted except for movies but im fine with watching movies on my computer screen, now if I get a lcd monitor it has to be sub $700 and even then that’s a little pricy, 500 would be nice but more than that is ok and less is great!

I was thinking about this one because I use my computer a lot more than my TV and all I have is an old 19" crt it looks great but my friend has a widescreen lcd I think gaming is so much nicer on it

Or I was thinking about the Sony crt that you can get off eBay that is 24" wide screen but only problem I have with that is that it is used, no warranty and if there’s a problem you have to ship it back (costs $100 to ship), im a sucker for new stuff, I like piece of mind to know that if something goes wrong that I can get it fixed, now I know this guy offers a warranty but it seems like it would be such a hassle 2 years later if this thing broke.

That Sony crt is the only crt I know of to be widescreen, I know there a bunch of widescreen lcds but I don’t know the specs on them, I was hoping you could recommend me a good lcd monitor under $700 preferably around $500, that is widescreen, and colors look just as good on a crt, and the response time is decent so there isn’t any ghosting.

Any help is appreciated :)
 
boo there are no gateway monitors in any of the best buys around me to check out :( , and that sony monitor is just so dang tempting 22.5 inches of viewable crt goodness, and with it i wouldnt have to worry about scaling issues or respones times boo i am confusled (yes confusled) :p, just the used part worries me
 
Yep, if I had the deskspace, I'd say that 24" widescreen CRT or another simular CRT.

You don't have to worry about blurriness, yep, every LCD I've ever seen to date had some blurriness, even with a fast sub 16ms response time, and those that have the quickest response times have crap color reproduction and limited viewing angles. Also, a good CRT will have a better contrast ratio, and you can use any resolution without loss of quality unlike an LCD.

There are many reasons why CRT is still better than LCD, but it's getting harder and harder to find quality CRTs that are actually new cuz alot of companies have stopped making them :/
