Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
It's easy to connect the wrong way, yes. As far as working, well, thats different. With LEDs, backwards has no effect at all due to the fact that LEDs only work with the electricity flowing the one way. For switches, backwards still works without any change because of the fact that it doesn't matter which direction electricity flows through a switch, just as long as it flows. In the end, it goes through the board the same correct way. Now, if you cross connections, that can have unpredictable and perhaps really bad results. Most of the time it just wouldn't work at all though. If you did something like wired the power through an LED somehow (you'd need something else with a ground/electric line for that to even work, so it would be hard to accidentally do) then you'd blow the LED instantly, but, no real damage to the PC.
So don't worry too much, just try to get them where they belong mainly. If an LED doesn't work, turn the connector around and see if it does then.
im smart to put the led with the led connector, but i was just wondering if switching it around or putting it the wrong way would damage the board. Now i know it doesn't. Thanks a lot man you've been great help.
Yeah, don't worry. LEDs are just diodes that light up, and diodes will ONLY allow electricity to flow one way. Heck, your PSU has some of those running off of that really high powered electricity in there. They are a bit bigger to handle all the power that actually does flow through them, but work the same way. If voltages crossed those the wrong way, bam. You would know when you heard the very loud pop.
