Stupid Question ... what is my cpu?

I am using cpu-id to id my work CPU to see if I should run 2 instances of folding if it has hyper-threading.

I have no way to tell which Intel I have. (I have always bought amd's so I know very little about intels).

for hyperthreading. however, it wont help you very much since its not a dual core.

I think it is... the whole intel icon there in the upper right has HT on it. Prescotts were all HT as well I think...

Also the sure fire is clicking on the drop down "Processor Selection" and the dropdown there to select CPU1/CPU2

BUT the REAL answer is don't run 2 instances of folding on a HT box. The offical word on that is a no. Hit the "Distributed Computing" forum for the offical word but the last I knew was just run 1 on an HT box. Enjoy the additional CPU cycles for doing your "work".

there's a patch i've seen that allows two instances of folding to run simultaneously and i tried it myself and it worked for the most part.

yep just a single core w/ HT
