[Rant]

This case has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

1). The spot for the PSU is way too small. In order to use my OCZ Powerstream, I had to remove one of the fans. Naturally, this fan won't go anywhere else other than the top exhaust (at least with the DFI motherboard due to the Karajan audio module), so I end up having to take out every single fan in the case at least once.

2). The rear exhaust fan sits right on top of the Karajan audio module which means you have to take the fan off in order to put the motherboard in if using a DFI board (which I am).

3). Cheap plastic abounds. I already lost at least one plastic tab off of something.

4). This case takes way too long to do a build in. Normally, I'm up and running in 1-2 hours. 5 hours later. I'm ready to throw this thing out the window.

5). After getting it all together, I saw a NF4 Lanparty screen for about 2 seconds and then it went blank. I haven't gotten any video signal since. Probably a short somewhere. What a hassle.

6). Anyway you look at it, I'm probably going to have to take the board OUT of the case to troubleshoot, basically throwing up the white flag admitting I wasted the past 5 hours of my life.

I really didn't want to waste all day getting a computer in a new case only to have it not work. I could have sat around and done nothing and been more productive. Needless to say, I'm not a big fan of Antec at the moment (nor DFI since I can't rule out it's not a bad board yet).

Yeah I own the same case, I like it a lot, but initial setup of the components in the case was a pain, especially my PC Power & Cooling Turbo-cool 510-SLi PSU, man the amount of cables are a nightmare to try and manage. That and it is a pain to move around in after everything is in place. However, I felt that it was worth it in the end, it is a very stylish case, and i have like 10 fans in there and it is still pretty quiet. I'll agree on the setup though, it wasn't as easy as other cases though.

Do you use the VGA cooling thing? Any good?

I did get it working eventually ;). I'm formatting and installing WinXP as I type.

Got any pics of the inside?
Thinking about getting the case...want to see people after their builds.

If its like my case you can dremel the one fan a bit like I did for the module to fit

1) Yes there isn't a whole lot of clearance for the fan, you can put one of the thinner fans there however and move the thicker one up top. If you get a grill to put on the fan it gives you a bit more leeway as well.

2) I have a DFI board and the fans do not come close to interfering with my Audio module (I have the Ultra-D not sure if the SLI has a larger module or not though).

3) I did have the fan bracket for the lower PSU chamber fan break on me. I emailed Antec about it and they sent me out a replacement (along with another fan even though I specifically said I didn't need the fan). Shipping was free to me and I got it in about a week within the first contact. About the other places, people have been having problems with the tabs on the side panel. I have taken my panel off and on many many times and have not had a problem at all. You simply need to make sure you have everything lined up and not force anything (which I would think is common sense anyways).

4) It is a little tough to work in, however it only took me an hour or two tops...and it was my first custom build. I find it hard to believe you spent 5 hours on it. I made sure that I had everything I needed at hand and had a nice clean workspace with lots of room.

5) A short sucks, but that isn't really the case's fault.

6) The case is a pain for taking components in and out, however that is not what it was designed for. It was designed to be a very quiet case, while still being able to provide top notch cooling when needed.

There are always tradeoffs in engineering. Antec chose to value silence in the build of the P180. You cant just buy something because a lot of people like it, you need to chose something that fits your needs.

Yeah this case blows....for the most part. Initial setup too me longer than usual I too have the OCZ powerstream and had to remove the middle bottom chamber fan. I also use the DFI ultra d but I do not use the audio modual so that wasent a problem. Good thing this case doesnt come with a window b/c it is a wiring nightmare. Also just from transporting it about 200ft I somehow broke 2 of the 5.25 drive bay covers with the door shut!.....and thats all I have to say about that.

Well, I got it all working now. Like I said, it was a "rant" because I was pissed off that it took so long to work on the computer. I figured out that my booting problem wasn't a short, it was DFI sending me a 3/10/05 bios on a brand new board :(. My X2 didn't play nice with it although it did stay stable long enough for me to flash it to the 6/23 and then it was fine. Going to install programs and test tomorrow.

Wiring is a mess inside, but it is very quiet. The case really isn't designed for larger high-power PSU's so be prepared to take out the lower fan. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars ;). 5 star finished product, 2 star ease of build.

okey doke if i cant build a PC in 20 mins or less i go postal so Ill stay away from this case.

This case is all about looks, and not about practicality which is stupid. Dont buy things because they look nice :p .
