Attempting to install a Maxtor 120GB SATA drive using a Kingwin SATALink Serial ATA PCI card.

I get the drivers installed at the prompt when installing XP. Everything seems to be fine. XP begins copying installation files. It's after the first reboot of XP, I sometimes get the XP splashscreen with progress bar but only for a moment. Usually, I immediately get the BSOD with the text:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Technical Information:
***stop: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFF70, 0X00000000, 0X8053C7B1, 0X00000000)

What I've tried:

- Updating to latest BIOS.

- Formatting with only 1 partition rather than 2.

- 3 different PCI slots for the card.

- Using the other slot on the card for the cable.

- Formatting with Maxtor's software, FDISK. and XP itself.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Make sure your boot order in the bios is good.
Also what other drives do you have installed?

Run your machine at stock speeds, no overclocking when installing the OS. See if you have problems then.

I think I tried at lower than default clock speeds once. I guess I can try the memtest before heading to bed. Thanks guys but I think this bad boy is about to get RMAed back to newegg.
