Stuck Temp Sensors

I'm getting a lot of different info on my CPU temps. Easy Tune shows 17c, Real temp shows 44c, and Speed Fan shows core 0 39c and core 1 54c. I ran the test in Real Temp and it showed 0 sensor movement. I'm guessing that means they are stuck. Can these be fixed? Thanks for any help!
 
I assume you are sitting at idle watching the temps? If so, a lot of the sensors get stuck at the low end... mine gets stuck at 37ºC, I've even tried opening up the window and ducting in 2ºC air just to test it and the temp never went lower than that even when the inside of the PC was frigid.

No fix that I'm aware of... however your temps under load should still be ok. Use Real Temp v2.8 or higher.
 
My apologies for not posting more info. I posted this on the way out the door, on my way out of town :( My CPU is a E8400 on a P35-DS3L I just want to get things straight before I try any OC. Three different programs giving three different temps kinda confuses me :p Thanks for the reply!
 
Thanks for the link. However, my temps never change. They won't go up or down. Using real temp or speedfan. I had Prime running and the temps did not budge. Is something broken, or is it operator error? Thanks for the help so far.

check and see if they change in your bios hardware monitor.. just let it sit there for a while see if the temps go up and down.. if not then they are stuck.. if they do.. then try HWMonitor and see if that works for you in windows to display temps..
 
HWMonitor shows no change in temps. I have my proc @3.3 and the only temp monitor that shows any kind of increase or decrease is Easy Tune. It shows system at 34c and CPU at 15c. Is that possible? The proc only gets to 28c running Prime. Ambient in the room is 70f. I know the Xigmatek is a good cooler, but those numbers seem hard to believe. One more thing, if I can never get a good stable temp monitor what would be the "safest" clock I good do. All I have done is bump the FSB to 367. I've read elsewhere that that is all most people need to do to get to 3.8. Thanks again for any help!
 
15ºC = ~59ºC and ambient in your room is 21ºC/70ºF... the Xigmatek 1283 is a good cooler but it's not that good ;)

You may also be hitting the problem some have reported where the temperature sensors don't reliably report until they get above 50ºC or so. However that doesn't make much sense as yours is reporting 11ºF below ambient.

Check out IntelBurnTest. If that doesn't budge your temperatures then something on the sensors is definitely messed up.

In a decently ventilated case an E0 e8400 (not sure what stepping you have, check CPU-Z) usually can hold at 3.6GHz with no worries. That would allow you to up the FSB to 400 (9*400=3.6GHz). These chips are designed throttle themselves before they bake but without ever being able to see your temps budge under load I would be worried about that capability. Let us know what happens after running 1-2 test rounds of IntelBurnTest with no changes to your current setup.
 
Theres no point measuring idle temps on the 45nM chips, they can be way way out
Intel hasnt released any info on how to calibrate the temp readings unless at TjMax or Higher.
So the closer you are to TjMax (ie under load), the closer you are to a known temp and therefore the readings start to mean something.
Bear in mind that TjMax will have a tolerance too so wont be definitive.

Low temps result in very slow temp reading changes which often stall and appear static.
My E8400 has been as low as 23C yet will not measure less than 43C on Realtemp with TjMax temp correctly configured.
Load temps measure ok but with unknown accuracy. You get an approximate idea of the temp though.
