Stuck Pixel Driving Me Nuts

I have a 17" Fuji Plus (from Newegg) and I absolutely love it except for a stuck pixel that developed about a month after purchase. It is in the middle of the upper left hand area and super noticeable in everything except a white screen.

I have tried every bit of voodoo LCD pseudo-science to unstick it, and at one point I had managed to get it to go away for about 3 days but then it came back. Rubbing/PSP stuck pixel movie is no help. I can make it go away by pressing on the back of the LCD and then pushing near (a radius of about 2-3 inches away) the spot from the front, but as soon as I let go of either the back or the front it comes back.

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions? If I were to disassemble the panel is there anything I could do to fix it? Thx for any replies.
 
Sounds like a dead pixel to me....The only thing I could tell you is to call the manufacturer and request a new display....
 
No, it is not dead. It is stuck green. As I stated I can press and the pixel acts just fine.

Can anyone help? How about just answering if I disassemble it, what I could do to possibly remedy the situation? Obviously if I press it is working so what insider could I do to place pressure, what would I be placing the pressure on... the panel or the light?
 
Well I know what you're going through...I had the same thing on my dell laptop lcd display....The way I described it to the tech on the phone was.....It's more like a geriatric...It's not dead but it's close enough.....So yeah the only way to fix that is to get a new display...Call the manufacturer ....Despite their dead pixel policy, they might still replace your display if it's under warranty....At no charge to you.....
 
Try one of them programs that run RGB colors constantly over your screen for a couple of hours. I cant remember any of the names of the programs, just google. I can remember a few friends who ran them and got rid of their stuck pixels.
 
A search on google reveals tons of hits but the programs are a bit hard to find. I did find this link for a flash version that may or may not work:

I'd prefer to download an actual program since it supposedly needs to run many hours to work.
 
Yeah, I tried the flashing color videos... I had mentioned the PSP stuck pixel video in my original post... they don't work, except to trigger my epilepsy and I flop around like a fish out of water ;)

The manufacturer is a lesser known one and really has no customer support. I am a very capable hardware hacker and EE person, so tackling the job myself doesn;t scare me... I just don't know where to go to fix the problem once I'm inside. I'm wondering if I can send extra voltage or something to possibly unfreeze the pixel since they twist/untwist... I really need someone who knows LCD technology.

My low tech sloution (honest to god, at this point I'm ready to do anything) is going to be touching the spot with a sharpie black marker so that at least the spot will be black instead of bright green.
 
I got the Fuji plus fp-988d 19" one I got a stuck pixel red two days after.

What I did was run the RBG video and gentlely rub the screen with soft cloth. Just be careful not to use force. I took a magifly glass on the screen and notice I have a few stuck or white sub pixel and very fine ultra small white dots but not noticeable when using the computer.

I notice once the stuck pixel was working again I took a magifly glass to check the spot there is a very faint red glow covered by all the dark in a black screen I noticed there is 3 other places with 3 faint red glow but the pixel works.

The screen is great except for it not being 100% perfect. Why can't it be perfect. I did notice 60hz produce less dark and light scanlines effect 75hz is more noticeable that every over line is darker and lighter effect.

Dvi is great and no noticable ghosting maybe some very slight thicking on text over white when moving in 3d games.
 
Thanks Mega2, but I have tried that too... hundreds of times. :(

I guess I'm just a freak, but that one stuck pixel makes me insane. I can't even stand to use the PC because it draws my eye to it no matter what I'm doing. I'm going to see if maybe I can cause it to stop working totally so I can get it replaced. *I know, not the most honest thing in the world, but I have no choice* I'm still thinking of taking it apart and seeing if anything I do fixes it, if not I'll unplug a cable or break a trace on the PCB and RMA it.

If anyone has any hardware-level knowledge of the internals of an LCD I'd be glad to hear what my options are to truly fix it.
