I just bought a new Sata 500gb hd. I currently have a 120gb IDE anyways I used norton partition basically duplicated the 120 stuff on to the 500gb hd. I booted into the 500gb hd and it worked fine. So I formatted the 120 after that I can't boot into the 500gb it just goes to the welcome screen and the login doesn't appear. I know for sure that I had booted into the 500gb the first time because it had the name of the hardrive and it matched the box so it was what I booted into and had worked when I had the 120gb.
Edit: I forgot to mention I had xp and vista on the 120 for dual boot but I had deleted the vista and then just moved xp to the 500 and cleared the 120. When the computer boots up it still gives the option of booting in Vista or Xp I tried Vista but it says it's deleted so I tried Xp it loads up to the welcome screen and freezes.
