Stripes on LCD display - fixable?

if it's a bad connection, maybe? I'd assume you checked that the cable is connected properly, but if it was yanked on at some point it may have damaged pins or something depending on the type of connection. That's easy to rule out though. Try to plug into a different input and even try a different output...just in case. If you did all that, it goes beyond my personal experience, but at that point, there's no harm in opening up the housing and looking for anything abnormal.
 
If I take the cable out, it gives me a NO SIGNAL message... still with the stripes on the screen.
 
The driver electronics have failed somewhere. You'll need to open it and solder the damaged circuits for those particular vertical lines.
You'll probably wreck it just trying to pry open the panel.
 
I've had similar, but different, symptoms when a cable worked itself loose inside the monitor.

If possible, carefully take your monitor apart and reseat all of the internal cables. If it is no longer under warranty then you would not have much to lose at this point.

Or return / exchange it if it was purchased recently, or take advantage of your warranty if possible.

I'm curious to hear how it turns out, good luck either way.
