Stripe Array + Single HD on MSI K7N2

Is it just me, or is this a flaw or design feature of this MB? I can't run a striped array with the OS on it and then install another HD on the primary or secondary channel. It tries to boot from that drive and since there is no OS on it, it fails. So is it just something I can't do or am I missing a step...? Thanks for any help guys.
