Im now getting into the OC part of my new build. I know Orthos is pretty popular when it comes to stressing the CPU for stability of a OC. Whats the best test to use in Orthos to make sure your overclock is stable? Im not overclocking my ram, just the CPU. As of right now, my ram is actually underclocked until I get a better heatsink and can get to a 400FSB. I have it set to 1:1 and my ram is running at 600MHz. Right now im at a 300FSB and want to make sure this is stable with the current settings.

Im guessing the Small FFT's test is probably the best choice for just the CPU?

Small FFTs. Also might wanna run OCCT, 30 mins stability test and while not as hard as small ffts in orthos will give you a quick idea of how close to stability you are. I find Orthos small FFTs will usually need more voltage to run overnight than a 30 min pass of OCCT but its a gauge of whether or not the chip will be able to pass orthos at all...

Thanks for that!

I hadn't used the OCCT and I'm incredibly impatient, so that may be a perfect compliment to mt A.D.D.

Ok I have a question on temperature when im stress testing my computer. Just didnt feel like it was worthy enough for a new thread.

That is me stress testing it. Core Temp and Speed fan reports the right core temperatures so that is good. But Speedfan also has a CPU temp reading. Which one should I pay attention to, the 2 cores individually or the CPU temp reading?

Im guessing the CPU temp reading is the whole cpu as a whole?

Make sure you leave Orthos running for at least 8 hours. Yesterday it failed after 6 hours
