Stress Test

Furmark's Xtreme Burning Mode will stress the temperature, but it's a very, very poor test of GPU stability. I can furmark at 875 endlessly, with the stock fan pinned at 100%. I have very poor stability in games at that speed, even though the temperature doesn't go past 80.

I don't know of a stress test that will test stability. I have to play BFBC2 for 20 to 30 minutes to make sure it's going to stay stable. I'm *certainly* open to suggestion.

My assumption is Furmark may stress the processor but not all of the ram on the GPU.

Video Memory Stress Test v1.7

Maybe it is due to the age of the software (not having been updated in two years), but I don't think the program tests this video card's memory correctly.

I ran this, at stock clocks:
Code:
Changing video mode to 640x480x16...OK
[5/30/2010 1:04:31 PM] Test started for "Primary Display Driver (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480)"...
Trying 16bpp RGB:565 mode...OK
TEST FAIL (Code: 8876017C)
Trying 16bpp RGB:555 mode...OK

i guess i just want to push gpu to see if the psu can handle the gpu

then run furmark.. it will definitely put the most possible load you can on the gpu and shaders which are the most power hungry..
