Hey everyone,

I've used ATI Tool for a while now for stress testing my GPU after overclocking. Normally, when I hit "Scan for artifacts", the temperature used to instantly go up.

All of the sudden, the test runs, but my temps stay where they would be if the card was running idle. At first, I thought it was the temp sensor gone bad, but then I realized any other 3D application raises the temp as normal.

I was using beta 9, uninstalled it, then installed beta 10 hoping it would fix it... but it didn't.

Any ideas, or suggestions on another program I can use to test this card out? ATI Tray Tools doesn't seem to heat up the GPU like ATI Tool does (did).

What about showing the 3D view any change? Any change under temperature monitoring under the pull down menu on the setting tab?

None. In fact, I always have both ATI Tray Tools > Overclocking alongside of ATI Tools so I can compare the temperature with both. They normally both scale evenly.

I also thought it might have been a problem just with ATI Tool's ability to monitor.... but it reports the same temp as ATI Tray Tools.... 40C.

I have two monitors, so if I do something as simple as running the Direct3D test in dxdiag, the temp on both programs instantly goes up. Same with running 3DMark05, or the benchmark on ATI Tray Tools.

None of these stressors heat up the GPU like ATI Tool did, though... and the main purpose of this is to test for stability at high temps.

Here's an interesting note.... ATI Tool must be doing something... because when I move the memory from 600 to 610, I get the occasional yellow dot on the carpet cube, which is instantly detected by ATI Tool. If I back the memory back down to 600, no artifacts. I just don't know that it is stable when I start moving up the core speed, because the temperature doesn't go up.
