Not sure where this belongs....but:

Is there any reason why individual channels arn't being streamed over the internet yet, in a similar manner to radio stations?

Especially with all of the new security built into the newest windows media codec, why arn't stations offering subscriptions packages for their own channels?

I just think that this would be great, as I only watch 1 or 2 channels from my cable package that arn't over the air.

I think you answerd your own question...

I bet cable company's don't want to be able to be run around.
As well as you would need some pretty hefty Bandwidth to stream out video to the masses with more that 100X100 res
