I wanna be able to select a vid file on my hard drive and have it streamed online. im currently using a thing called see too and it broadcasts a vid file of my choice to my account on justin.tv.....so i was wondering if anyone knew of another program to use thats better cuz this is a bareback program
 
If you're using Windows (most likely) the Windows Media Encoder can do all that and a lot more. Audio or video streaming, or a video stream with audio, not a problem. Not that difficult to set up, you can save profiles to start up the encoder in seconds, all sorts of neat stuff you can do with it. I've been using it for years now to create audio streams for various purposes and some video ones as well. Get more info at:

the ustream site is just like the justin.tv site so its not a program i can use...im trying this windows thing now
 
Where exactly do you want to go with this? Public streaming over the web or private streaming via your home network to media capable devices?
 
There's a difference between uploading a file to a service that will stream it for you (YouTube, basically, or that style) and streaming it directly off your computer. I'm believing the OP means he wants to stream it from his PC on demand so, again, Windows Media Encoder will be a great way to do that.
