strange wireless issues

i just purchased a dlink wireless router to use with the intel wireless b/g card built into my laptop. I hooked it up and everything connected right away. The stange part is I get full speed when using my usenet connection but when using the internet (tried 3 browsers) I get half or quater speed. Servers that get 350K on my desktop that is wired to the router get 200 or 150 over the wireless connection. My link speed is exellent and
i'm using the intel software to manage my connection. I also dont think its any kind of hardware or router isse because my roomate is able to get fullspeed with his wireless card
