I've been having some issues lately with P2684 and P6702 work units on my 980X rig. WU starts out fine then somewhere in the process the time between frames gets longer and longer until it just sits there and hangs and doesn't progress anymore. I've verified my system is running at full cpu speed. While this is happening all threads are at 100%. What the heck is going on here? Am I just getting bad WU or do I need to look at something in my system?

I haven't seen that on my 980X. Looking at HFM.net I've run one P2684 and one P6701, and the average frame times look reasonable. Certainly they both completed.

I'd suggest reinstalling the F@H client first and seeing if that helps.

no need to reinstall the whole client. Just delete everything beside the executable and the config file. It should then download a new core and associated files to run it.

Yeah, I've deleted everything, but left the core there. I'll try it again tonight and delete the core as well.

Yup .. i've seen it on 6701 & 2685 WUs on my i7 920 .. sometimes it takes much longer to finish 1 frame than every others...

My RAM is UNDERclock too .. and system has run fine for 4-5 months with -bigadv WUs as well as many others A1, A2, A3 WUs .. I thought only my system has issue.

What are your temps like?

I figured my problem out and have a work around. For some reason my system goes to sleep now when the screen saver kicks in. I checked power options and it says never go to sleep. BIOS power saving is turned off too. I just turn my monitor off now rather than use screen saver and all is well. Very strange bug.

Odd. Glad you found it.

I don't use Screen Saver, set everything to NEVER in Power Management....

Whenever it gets 670x WUs (---- ONLY have problem with 670x WUs -----) , system crashed when I leave only smp client running ... Still not figure out what cause that.
