Strange Output Issue - B&W Display

I have dual HP 2511x monitors hooked up to a Powercolor HD6970 via DVI. Today when I started up and enabled my secondary display in Ultramon, it came up in black and white. I believe this is a software issue based on some tests:

- I switched the cables on the monitors, and the B&W followed the cable

- I unplugged the good cable from the vid card and moved the bad cable to the other DVI port, now in color

- During reboots, ASUS splash screen and Windows boot screen are in color. B&W first occurs during the log on page, so my video card is still capable of color output on the "bad" port.

- Catalyst drivers updated to current version today (no fix).

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

if its happening on login screen its more then likely a driver/windows setting related. since ultramon shouldn't load until you login. but you could try removing ultramon, though i've never seen that problem in the 4 years i've been using ultramon.

The desktop color settings in Catalyst Control Center (Desktop Management -> Desktop Color) freaked out on me once and gave me a B&W screen. Took awhile to figure out since reinstalling the driver didn't fix it.

Come to think of it, IIRC I was playing with Ultramon at the time...

I had same thing on my work computer turned out my secondary monitor was set up as bw but primary normal. In graphics settings in control panel select second monitor and see what it is set to.

I'm sure you checked but thought I'd throw it out there.
