strange network

interesting problem, we recently hooked up a D-link wireless router for my moms laptop to have wireless connection. However, now at random intervals, the connection to all computers (except the admins) will be lost for a split second and then return, disconnecting everyone from every internet application they were using at the time, AIM, games, etc. (however, does not affect browsing, im assuming because browsing loads the page into cache)

what is the dhcp lease time set to? and is it set for keep alive or connect on demand?
